Description

CAIF is an irreversible, selective allosteric covalent inhibitor of ucosyltransferase 8 (FUT8) with an IC50 of 5.7 μM. CAIF inhibits core fucosylation modification in cancer cells, and suppresses the invasion and migration of cancer cells. CAIF is applicable for cancer research[1].

In Vitro

CAIF (0-500 μM; 72 h) exhibits extremely low cytotoxicity in HeLa, A375, GAK and HEK293T cells, with no toxicity detected at the concentration of 500 μM in HeLa and GAK cells[1].
CAIF (0-300 μM; 72 h) significantly inhibits core fucosylation in HeLa, A375 and GAK cells, with an EC50 of 38.4 μM in GAK cells[1].
CAIF (1-100 μM; 72 h) inhibits the invasion of HeLa cells in vitro, and its efficacy is superior to that of 2FF at the tested concentrations[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Cell Invasion Assay[1]

Cell Line: HeLa
Concentration: 1, 10, 50, 100 μM
Incubation Time: 48 h (pretreatment); 24 h (invasion assay incubation at 37 °C)
Result: Outperformed 2FF in suppressing HeLa cell migration and invasion in the in vitro invasion assay.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
