Description

CB6513745 is a MelF flavin-dependent oxidoreductase inhibitor with a Ki of 18 μM against Mycobacterium marinum MelF. CB6513745 inhibits the activity of MelF flavin-dependent oxidoreductase via hydrophobic interactions with the binding pocket of the protein. CB6513745 is applicable to research related to tuberculosis[1].

In Vitro

CB6513745 noncompetitively inhibits the flavin oxidoreductase activity of purified Mycobacterium marinum MelF protein with a Ki of 18 μM, without causing protein denaturation or aggregation[1].
CB6513745 exhibits bactericidal activity against Mycobacterium marinum strain M with an MIC of 19.39 μM and MBC of 38.77 μM, and against Mycobacterium tuberculosis H37Rv with an MIC of 38.77 μM and MBC of 38.77 μM; it also acts synergistically with INH against M. marinum[1].
CB6513745 (19.39-96.95 μM; 20 h) is non-cytotoxic to HeLa cells at concentrations up to 5X its MIC against Mycobacterium marinum[1].

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
