    Description

CellTracker Red CMTPX is a cell-permeable fluorescent dye that can be used as a cell tracer for monitoring cell movement and location (Ex/Em=586/614 nm)[1].

    In Vitro

Guide (Following is our recommended protocol. This protocol only provides a guideline, and should be modified according to your specific needs).
    1. Stock Solution Preparation: Dissolve CellTracker Red CMTPX in high-quality anhydrous DMSO to create a 10 mM stock solution.
    2. Working Solution Preparation: Dilute the stock solution 1:1000 to 1:2000 in pre-warmed (37°C), serum-free media (e.g., 5 μM final concentration).
    3. Labeling (Suspension/Adherent Cells):
    (1) Remove medium and add the pre-warmed working solution.
    (2) Incubate cells for 15-45 minutes at 37°C.
    (3) Remove working solution and replace with fresh pre-warmed media.
    (4) Allow cells to incubate for another 30-60 minutes to allow the dye to convert to its membrane impermeant form.
    4. Imaging: Use rhodamine or Texas Red filters (approx. 586/614 nm).

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

    Help & FAQs
    • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
