CyLip-10
CyLip-10 is a microbial-derived cyclic-lipid antimicrobial peptide. CyLip-10 has broad-spectrum antimicrobial efficacy, low hemolytic activity, and excellent stability. CyLip-10 can disrupt membrane integrity, inhibit biofilm formation and induce membrane permeabilization and bacterial cell death. CyLip-10 reduces bacterial load, promotes wound healing, and alleviates inflammatory responses in a mouse Methicillin (HY-121544)-resistant Staphylococcus aureus skin wound infection model. CyLip-10 can be used for the bacterial infection.

In Vitro
CyLip-10 (18-24 h) exhibits broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacterial strains (including S. aureus ATCC 25923, B. subtilis ATCC 23857, E. coli ATCC 25922, K. pneumoniae ATCC 700603, and P. aeruginosa ATCC 27853) with a GMall (the
geometric mean of the MICs) of 7.34 μM[1].
CyLip-10 (1 h) shows low hemolytic toxicity against mouse red blood cells with an HC10 value of >256 μM[1].
CyLip-10 (1 h) has low cytotoxicity against HK-2 cells with a CC50 value of 210 μM[1].
CyLip-10 exhibits good serum stability in mouse serum with a half-life exceeding 48 h[1].
CyLip-10 maintains complete antimicrobial activity against S. aureus and E. coli after 6 h incubation with 2000 μg/mL of trypsin or chymotrypsin[1].
CyLip-10 (8-32 μM; 2-24 h) rapidly kills S. aureus and E. coli and inhibits the formation of biofilms[1].
CyLip-10 has a low propensity to induce resistance in S. aureus and P. aeruginosa over 20 passages[1].
