Concanavalin A-HRP (Con A-HRP) is a HRP-labled Concanavalin A (HY-P2149). Concanavalin A is a Ca2+/Mn2+-dependent and mannose/glucose-binding plant lectin. Concanavalin A binds the N- and O-glycosylated proteins of head and neck carcinoma cells glycoproteins.

Biological Activity
Concanavalin A-HRP (1:100; 2 h) specifically binds and visualizes glycoproteins with α-D-mannopyranosyl or high-mannose carbohydrate chains (including transferrin, bovine IgG, α1-antitrypsin, and ovalbumin) on Western blots[1].
Concanavalin A-HRP labels specific intracellular structures in human pituitary adenoma cells, including nuclear envelope, endoplasmic reticulum, Golgi apparatus, plasma membrane, and immature/small secretory granules in select subtypes[2].
Concanavalin A-HRP labels secretory granules in oncocytic human pituitary non-functioning adenoma cells[2].
Concanavalin A-HRP acts as an electron microscopic staining agent to detect saccharide residues in biological structures and distinguish subtypes of human pituitary adenomas based on binding patterns[2].
