Nuclear localizing sequence
Nuclear localizing sequence is a peptide sequence that functions as an inducer and exhibits membrane permeability in mammalian cells. Nuclear localizing sequence enhances cellular uptake and directs conjugated ruthenium (II) complexes to the nucleus for nuclear DNA imaging.

Descripciòn
In Vitro
The nuclear localizing sequence (Compound 12a) targets the conjugated [Ru (bpy)2 (dppz)]2+ complex to the cell nucleus, and enables selective imaging of nuclear DNA by virtue of the "light-switch" emission behavior of this complex[1].
Conjugation of the nuclear localizing sequence with a ruthenium (II) biquinoline complex bearing perchlorate counterions enables efficient cellular uptake in CHO and HeLa cells[2].
