Etaconazol (Etaconazole) is an azole fungicide. Etaconazol possesses endocrine-disrupting potential and inhibits placental steroidogenesis by suppressing 3β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase (3β-HSD1). Etaconazol binds to the NAD+/steroid-binding site of the target enzyme and acts on both the free enzyme and enzyme-substrate complex to inhibit their activity.

Description

Etaconazol (Etaconazole) is an azole fungicide. Etaconazol possesses endocrine-disrupting potential and inhibits placental steroidogenesis by suppressing 3β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase (3β-HSD1). Etaconazol binds to the NAD+/steroid-binding site of the target enzyme and acts on both the free enzyme and enzyme-substrate complex to inhibit their activity[1].

In Vitro

Etaconazole (0-100 μM; 30 min) potently inhibits the activity of human placental microsomal 3β-HSD1, with an IC50 of 78 μM and a Ki of 88.9 μM[1].
Etaconazole (0-100 μM; 30 min) inhibits 3β-HSD4 activity in rat placental microsomes, with an IC50 of 102.6 μM and a Ki of 109.6 μM[1].

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
