Ethyl 2-fluorocinnamate is a substituted ethyl cinnamate derivative with antifungal activity and weak sensitizing activity. Ethyl 2-fluorocinnamate inhibits mycelial growth of phytopathogenic fungi. Ethyl 2-fluorocinnamate can be used in studies related to plant fungal diseases.

Biological Activity
Ethyl 2-fluorocinnamate (compound A11) exhibits in vitro antifungal activity against Fusarium solani, Pyricularia grisea, Valsa mali, and Botryosphaeria dothidea with an average inhibition rate of 39.3% at 0.5 mM after 72 h of incubation[1].
Ethyl 2-fluorocinnamate (compound 3b) is a weaker skin sensitizer than ethyl cinnamate, with an EC1.5 of 44.0 μM, an EC2 of 109.3 μM, an Imax of 2.8, and an IC50 of 304.2 μM[2].
