Biological Activity
FR179642 can be obtained through hydrolysis of FR901379, and utilized for synthesis of antifungal agent Micafungin (HY-17579)[1]. Micafungin inhibits the fungal cell wall synthesis through inhibition of β-(1,3)-D-glucan synthesis, thereby exhibiting antifungal activity[3].
