Croomine (compound 2) (95% ethanol, 4% HCl, 35% aqueous NH3, hexane:EtOAc (1:1); 2 h ethanol reflux, repeated 2 times) is a naturally occurring tuberostemospironine-type alkaloid isolated from Stemona tuberosa, with a total isolated yield of 840 mg, a retention time of 9.26 min in HPLC-ELSD analysis, and fully assigned NMR spectroscopic data in deuteropyridine solvent[1].
