Hexamethoxymethylmelamine
Hexamethoxymethylmelamine (Hexakis(methoxymethyl)melamine; HMMM) is a type of multifunctional melamine-formaldehyde crosslinker. Under acid-catalyzed conditions, Hexamethoxymethylmelamine enables chemical crosslinking between hydroxyl-functionalized polymers and hydroxyl groups in coating systems via methoxy-hydroxyl reactions, forming an interconnected network structure. Hexamethoxymethylmelamine can be used in organic synthesis-related research, such as thermosetting coatings.

Biological Activity
Description
In Vitro
Hexamethoxymethylmelamine remains biodegradable in compost soil when used to crosslink PVA/corn starch/citrus lignocellulose fiber composite films; it slows down the degradation process of the film and the degradation rate of starch in soil environments, while reducing the degree of microbial mineralization of the film in compost soil[1].
Hexamethoxymethylmelamine (HMMM)-crosslinked glass-based bio-coatings exhibit excellent liquid repellency, self-cleaning property, ink resistance, corrosion resistance, anti-graffiti property, anti-fingerprint property, and colorability[2].
Hexamethoxymethylmelamine (HMMM) can crosslink hydroxyl-terminated WPU emulsions grafted onto PDMS to form an antifouling coating with both strong anti-graffiti and self-cleaning properties, and these properties remain intact after bending or impact[3].
MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.
