Biological Activity
Glenthmycin A (Compound 1) (0.01-30 μM; 16-24 h) inhibits the growth of S. aureus ATCC 25923 (IC50 6.4 μM), E. faecalis (IC50 5.7 μM), MRSA ATCC 43300 (IC50 4.4 μM), MRSA ATCC 33591 (IC50 1.9 μM), and VRE (IC50 5.2 μM)[1].
Glenthmycin A (30 μM; 48 h) does not exhibit significant cytotoxicity against human colorectal carcinoma (SW620) or human lung carcinoma (NCI-H460) cells, with IC50 > 30 μM[1].
