Janelia Fluor® 585 is a carbocyanine dye with orange spectral properties and high quantum yield, which shows a strong preference for the non-fluorescent lactone form in aqueous solutions[1].

Result:Detected measurable labeling in the brain within 5 minutes, peaked around 6 hours, and lasted nearly 2 weeks following intravenous injection.
Delivered effectively to the brain with distinct early-time-point pharmacokinetics (<7 days) following intraperitoneal injection.
Showed colocalization with GCaMP6s signals in neurons via two-photon imaging.
Showed no significant difference in spontaneous neuronal activity (ΔF/F0 %) measured before (-24 h, -2 h) and after (+4 h, +27 h) administration.
