AS3580239 (1-10 μM) acts as a positive allosteric modulator of skeletal muscle-type nicotinic acetylcholine receptors in differentiated Hu5/KD3 human myotubes, reducing the EC₅₀ of ACh by 14.0-fold at 10 μM without inducing currents on its own, and its effects are blocked by the acetylcholine receptor antagonist tubocurarine^[1].
