Demethoxyhexahydrocurcumin scavenges free radicals, inhibits cancer cell viability, and suppresses microbial growth. Demethoxyhexahydrocurcumin can be used for the research of colorectal cancer.

Demethoxyhexahydrocurcumin displays greater cytotoxic activity against CaCo-2 colorectal cancer cells[1].
Demethoxyhexahydrocurcumin demonstrates antimicrobial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, E. coli, Candida albicans, and Aspergillus niger but does not outperform curcumin in the disc diffusion assay[1].
Demethoxyhexahydrocurcumin exhibits potent antioxidant activity (IC50 of 8.62 μg/mL)[2].
