Glenthmycin E

Glenthmycin E (0.01-30 μM; 16-24 h) inhibits the growth of Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923 (IC₅₀ = 4.9 μM), Enterococcus faecalis (IC₅₀ = 6.2 μM), methicillin-resistant S. aureus ATCC 43300 (IC₅₀ = 3.9 μM), methicillin-resistant S. aureus ATCC 33591 (IC₅₀ = 2.3 μM), and vancomycin-resistant Enterococci (IC₅₀ = 3.2 μM)^[1].
Glenthmycin E (48 h) does not exhibit significant cytotoxicity against SW620 or NCI-H460 human carcinoma cells (IC₅₀ >30 μM), nor does it inhibit growth of Candida albicans, Escherichia coli, Mycobacterium bovis BCG, or Mycobacterium tuberculosis H37Ra at concentrations up to 30 μM^[1].
