2-Dimethylaminophenol is an inhibitor of human glyoxalase 1 (GLO1). 2-Dimethylaminophenol disrupts metal binding by substituting the pyridine nitrogen donor with a dimethylamino group^[1].

In Vitro

2-Dimethylaminophenol (Compound 31) (200 μM; 30 min) shows no significant inhibitory effect on recombinant human MMP-2 at the concentration of 200 μM^[1].
2-Dimethylaminophenol (200 μM; 15-20 min) inhibits the activity of recombinant human GLO1 by 36% at a concentration of 200 μM^[1].
2-Dimethylaminophenol (200 μM; 15 min) exerts no significant inhibitory effect on recombinant human hCAII at the concentration of 200 μM^[1].
