MAAAHR
MAAAHR is a neuroprotective agent. MAAAHR is isolated and purified from C-phycocyanin of Spirulina platensis. MAAAHR induces antioxidant gene expression through activating the Nrf2 signaling pathway. MAAAHR inhibits excessive Autophagy by reducing the expression of proteins such as α-Syn and Parkin. MAAAHR inhibits Apoptosis. MAAAHR scavenges excessive ROS, enhances SOD, CAT, and GSH-Px activities, and reduces protein carbonyl content. MAAAHR inhibits Acetylcholinesterase. MAAAHR protects zebrafish against MPTP (HY-15608)-induced dopaminergic neuronal and neurovascular loss and alleviates motor impairment. MAAAHR can be used for research on Parkinson's disease.

Result:Completely reversed the MPTP-induced degeneration of DA neurons in a dose-dependent manner.
Reversed the loss of vasculature and disorganized vasculature caused by MPTP.
Significantly increased the average movement speed and total distance traveled compared to the MPTP model group.
Reduced elevated ROS levels, increased SOD, CAT, and GSH-Px activities, and decreased protein carbonyl content, with the highest concentration returning these indicators to normal levels.
Effectively inhibited MPTP-induced cell apoptosis in a concentration-dependent manner.
High doses dose-dependently inhibited AChE activity.
Reversed the MPTP-induced decrease in nrf2, gclc, gclm, ho-1, and nqo-1, and the increase in keap1.
Reversed the MPTP-induced increases in autophagy-related genes (α-syn, parkin, beclin1, atg5, map1lc3b, atg3) and apoptosis-related genes (caspase-1, caspase-3, caspase-8, caspase-9, bax).
