Neuroprotective agent 13
Neuroprotective agent 13 is a brain-penetrant 1H-benzo[d]imidazoles compound with neuroprotective effect. Neuroprotective agent 13 can activate autophagy and clear SCMAS accumulation from iPSC-derived neural progenitor cells. Neuroprotective agent 13 can be used for the research of neurological disease, such as neuronal ceroid lipofuscinoses (NCLs).

Biological Activity
Neuroprotective agent 13 (Compound 9b) (10 μM, 24 h) significantly protects the viability of neural progenitor cells (NPCs) with CLN3 induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), with a cell viability of 132.18%[1].
Neuroprotective agent 13 (Compound 9b) clears the abnormal accumulation of subunit c of mitochondrial ATP synthase (SCMAS) in iPSC-NPC cells with CLN3[1].
Neuroprotective agent 13 (10 μM, 24 h) activates the autophagic pathway in iPSC-NPC cells with CLN3[1].
Neuroprotective agent 13 (1-10 μM) does not activate Kv7.2/7.3 voltage-gated potassium channels[1].
