Description

Nuclear localizing sequence is a peptide sequence that functions as an inducer and exhibits membrane permeability in mammalian cells. Nuclear localizing sequence enhances cellular uptake and directs conjugated ruthenium (II) complexes to the nucleus for nuclear DNA imaging[1][2].

In Vitro

The nuclear localizing sequence (Compound 12a) targets the conjugated [Ru (bpy)2 (dppz)]2+ complex to the cell nucleus, and enables selective imaging of nuclear DNA by virtue of the "light-switch" emission behavior of this complex[1].
Conjugation of the nuclear localizing sequence with a ruthenium (II) biquinoline complex bearing perchlorate counterions enables efficient cellular uptake in CHO and HeLa cells[2].

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
