Integrin alpha V beta 5
Integrin alpha V beta 5 is a broadly expressed vitronectin receptor assembled from CD51 and the beta-5 subunit. Unlike alpha V beta 3, it is present on most epithelial and many endothelial cells at baseline, mediating adhesion and spreading on vitronectin, fibrinogen and latent TGF-beta. In the retina it supports the phagocytic clearance of shed photoreceptor outer segments by the retinal pigment epithelium, and its dysfunction has been linked to retinal degeneration. Alpha V beta 5 also acts as a coreceptor with CAR during adenoviral cell entry and contributes to tumor cell migration. The receptor is a target of cilengitide and of RGD-based molecular imaging probes alongside alpha V beta 3.

The EpCAM/TROP1 protein serves as an important homogeneous interacting molecule that promotes direct contact between intestinal epithelial cells (IEC) and intraepithelial lymphocytes (IEL) in the mucosal epithelium. This feature helps establish an immune barrier against mucosal infections. EpCAM/TROP1 Protein, Human (His-SUMO) is the recombinant human-derived EpCAM/TROP1 protein, expressed by E. coli , with N-6*His, N-SUMO labeled tag.
