QWF Peptide (Compound 4a) (incubated for 0.5 h) inhibits the specific binding of 3H-SP to guinea pig lung membranes, with an IC50 of 0.09 μM, which is 7-fold more potent than the lead octapeptide 1[1].
QWF Peptide (32 μM) antagonizes substance P (SP)-induced contraction of isolated guinea pig tracheal strips, with an IC50 of 4.7 μM; it exhibits no agonist activity at concentrations up to 32 μM and does not affect histamine-induced tracheal contraction[1].
