(RS)-AMPA hydrochloride
(RS)-AMPA hydrochloride ((±)-AMPA hydrochloride) is a glutamate analogue and a potent and selective excitatory neurotransmitter L-glutamic acid agonist. (RS)-AMPA hydrochloride hydrobromide does not interfere with binding sites for kainic acid or NMDA receptors.

Biological Activity
(RS)-AMPA hydrochloride induces dose-dependent depolarization in cultured fetal rat brainstem and lumbosacral spinal cord neurons by activating glutamate/quisqualate-preferring receptors[1].
(RS)-AMPA hydrochloride activates recombinant GluR-A/GluR-B AMPA receptors in cultured mammalian cells[2].
