Hydroprene
Hydroprene is a synthetic juvenile hormone analog that mainly interferes with the normal growth, development and reproduction processes of insects by mimicking the juvenile hormone in insects. Hydroprene inhibits insect metamorphosis, disrupts reproduction and even directly affects embryos, with its target being the immature stages of insects. Hydroprene can be used in control studies of Plodia interpunctella eggs and Blattella germanica.

Biological Activity
Hydroprene (0.1-100.0 μg/μL; topical; single dose) sterilizes last-instar German cockroaches in a dose-dependent manner, with males more sensitive (SD50 = 39.82 μg/g) than females (SD50 = 86.64 μg/g), and the highest tested dose reduces adult longevity and induces supernumerary molting[2].

Reduced adult lifespans of females to 96.57 days and males to 46.33 days at 100.0 μg/μL.
Induced supernumerary sixth molt in some individuals treated at 100.0 μg/μL, with death occurring 1-2 days after partial abdominal cuticle shedding.
