Biological Activity
ε-Caprolactone can be obtained by ring-opening polymerization catalyzed by stannous octoate and aluminum isopropoxide to obtain PCL, and can also be synthesized by low molecular weight diols, which are common building blocks of multiblock copolymers[1].
ε-Caprolactone-derived PCL diacrylate telechelics undergo photochemical crosslinking to yield covalent polymer networks with reduced crystallinity and faster degradation rates compared to linear PCL[1].
ε-Caprolactone-based PEU films support robust fibroblast proliferation with normal morphology, demonstrating high biocompatibility for tissue engineering applications[1].
ε-Caprolactone-derived PEG-b-PCL micelles effectively deliver neurotrophic agents and stimulate neuronal outgrowth in vitro[1].
