1,3-Propanesultam
Based on 1 Customer Validation
1,3-Propanesultam (1,1-Dioxoisothiazolidine) is a cyclic sulfonamide monomer. Polymerization of 1,3-Propanesultam under base catalysis produces high-molecular-weight polypropanesulfonamide, while polymerization under acid catalysis yields low-molecular-weight polypropanesulfonamide. 1,3-Propanesultam serves as a coupling partner in copper-catalyzed C-N cross-coupling reactions for the synthesis of 3-aminopyrazole phenylacetamide analogs. 1,3-Propanesultam is applicable to research related to organic synthesis.

Biological Activity
1,3-Propanesultam can be used to prepare APPA derivative 48 bearing a sultam functional group, which undergoes high-throughput screening for Ube3a unsilencing and cytotoxicity in primary neurons from pINSG mice[1].
1,3-Propanesultam generates high-molecular-weight polypropanesulfonamide via base-catalyzed polymerization, but only low-molecular-weight polypropanesulfonamide can be obtained through acid-catalyzed polymerization[2].
