2-Dodecanone is an insecticide with repellent activity against specific insect species. 2-Dodecanone exhibits contact toxicity against adult Tribolium castaneum, Lasioderma serricorne and Liposcelis bostrychophila. 2-Dodecanone shows repellent effects against adult Lasioderma serricorne[1].

In Vitro

2-Dodecanone ( 24 h) shows significant contact toxicity against Tribolium castaneum (LD50 = 5.21 μg/adult), Lasioderma serricorne (LD50 = 2.54 μg/adult), and Liposcelis bostrychophila (LD50 = 23.41 μg/cm2) adults[1].
2-Dodecanone (24 h) exhibits fumigant toxicity against Tribolium castaneum (LC50 = 30.39 mg/L air), Lasioderma serricorne (LC50 = 7.48 mg/L air), and Liposcelis bostrychophila (LC50 = 0.82 mg/L air) adults[1].
2-Dodecanone (3.15-78.63 nL/cm2; 2-4 h) has beneficial repellent effects on Lasioderma serricorne adults[1].
