Biological Activity
Acedoben (AcPABA) sodium exhibits a lambda maximum of 214 nm and a molar extinction coefficient of 1.67×106 M-1·cm-1 in aqueous solution[1].
Acedoben sodium has carboxylic acid C=O and amidic C=O IR absorption peaks at 1672 cm−1 and 1608 cm−1, respectively, when analyzed as a KBr pellet[1].
Acedoben sodium has a carboxylic acid pKa of 4.60 in 1:1 DMF:water solution, while its amidic hydrogen pKa is too high to measure via NaOH titration[1].
Acedoben sodium has a Kow of 1.22 at pH 2.0 and a logD of -1.10 at pH 7.4, demonstrating lower lipophilicity than its trifluoroacetamido derivative under both conditions[1].
