Description

AN13762 is a benzoxaborole antimalarial agent. AN13762 augments Plasmodium falciparum stress responses. AN13762 acts against cultured and fresh Plasmodium falciparum isolates and in vivo murine malaria models. AN13762 can be used for the research of malaria[1].

In Vitro

AN13762 (1 nM-10 μM; 48 h) potently inhibits the growth of Plasmodium falciparum laboratory strains (3D7, W2, Dd2, 7G8, VS1, K1, D6) with IC50 values ranging from 18 nM to 118 nM[1].
AN13762 (72 h) potently inhibits the growth of fresh Plasmodium falciparum clinical isolates from Uganda[1].
AN13762 (500 nM; 8 h) exhibits the greatest antimalarial activity against ring- and trophozoite-stage Plasmodium falciparum Dd2 parasites, causing abnormal trophozoite morphology and preventing further development[1].
AN13762 produces low-level resistant Plasmodium falciparum (Dd2, 3D7, W2) with PfPARE mutations (IC50 180-1340 nM) and high-level resistant parasites with additional ubiquitination/sumoylation or PfCPSF3 mutations (IC50 1.1-5.0 μM)[1].

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
