Chol-PEG
Chol-PEG is an amphiphilic cholesterol-polyethylene glycol conjugate and also a liposomelike surface modifier. After Chol-PEG is incorporated into liposomelike vesicles, it forms a hydrophilic barrier on their surface, increases the thickness of the bound water layer around the liposomelike vesicles, and enhances the release rate of encapsulated compounds. Chol-PEG can be used as a modifier to prepare nonionic surfactant vesicles (liposomelike vesicles) for drug delivery applications.

Biologische Aktivität
Chol-PEG can form Chol-PEGm, which is used to modify nimodipine (HY-B0265)-loaded vesicles. As the molecular weight of PEG increases, the vesicle size increases, zeta potential decreases, and FALT increases; the release rate of nimodipine increases with the increase in PEG molecular weight; among these, vesicles modified with Chol-PEG10,000 show the highest cumulative release within 24 h, reaching up to 43.86%[1].
