Nicothiazone (compound 1) (10 min pre-incubation; 30 min reaction incubation) potently inhibits Baker's yeast α-glucosidase with an IC₅₀ of 120.20 μM, showing greater potency than Acarbose (HY-B0089)^[1].
Nicothiazone interacts with Saccharomyces cerevisiae α-glucosidase via hydrogen bonding with residues Asp349 and His111, supporting its inhibitory activity^[1].
