Fluorosalan
Fluorosalan is an NF-κB inhibitor. Fluorosalan blocks the NF-κB signaling pathway by inhibiting the phosphorylation of IκBα. Fluorosalan induces depolarization of mitochondrial membrane potential in cancer cells and inhibits the growth of various cancer cells. Fluorosalan can be used in studies related to cervical cancer and rheumatoid arthritis.

In Vitro
Fluorosalan (5 pM-38 μM; 5 h) inhibits the transcriptional activity of NF-κB in TNF-α- and IL-1β-induced NF-κB-bla ME180 human cervical cancer cells, with IC50 values of 7.9 μM and 24.4 μM, respectively[1].
Fluorosalan (5 h) inhibits TNF-α-induced NF-κB transcriptional activity in NF-κB-luc2P HEK293 human embryonic kidney cells, with an IC50 of 25.3 μM[1].
Fluorosalan (30 min) inhibits TNF-α-induced phosphorylation of IκBα at serine-32 in GFP-IκBα GripTite HEK293 cells, with an IC50 of 2.8 μM[1].
Fluorosalan (10 μM; 1 h) reduces TNF-α-induced phosphorylation of IκBα at serine-32 in IkB HEK293 cells[1].
Fluorosalan (5-24 h) does not induce caspase 3/7 activity in NF-κB-bla ME180 human cervical cancer cells[1].
Fluorosalan (24 h) depolarizes the mitochondrial membrane potential of ME180 human cervical cancer cells, with an IC50 of 1.2 μM[1].
Fluorosalan (5-72 h) inhibits the viability of ME180 human cervical cancer cells, with IC50 values of 9.0 μM (24 h), 2.7 μM (48 h) and 1.3 μM (72 h)[1].
Fluorosalan (5-72 h) inhibits the viability of human cervical cancer HeLa cells, with IC50 values of 3.1 μM (24 h), 2.1 μM (48 h) and 3.3 μM (72 h)[1].
Fluorosalan binds to the human IκBα/NF-κB complex (PDB ID: 1IKN) with a maximum binding energy of -8.5 kcal/mol, suggesting that it has potential inhibitory activity against the NF-κB signaling pathway[2].
