Description
In Vitro
(S,S)-EDDS forms more stable trans(O5)-conformer complexes with divalent metal cations (Co2+, Ni2+, Cu2+, Zn2+, Cd2+) than trans(O6)-conformer complexes, with stability following the order Cu2+ > Ni2+ > Co2+ > Zn2+ > Cd2+ and a maximum aqueous complexation free energy of -40.02 kcal mol-1 for the Cu2+ trans(O5) complex[1].
