ATV399
ATV399 is an inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) inhibitor. ATV399 reduces NO production via allosteric inhibition of iNOS dimerization, thereby protecting rat pancreatic islet β-cells from cytokine-induced mitochondrial stress, endoplasmic reticulum stress, and apoptosis. ATV399 can be used in research related to type 1 diabetes.

Biological Activity
ATV399 (0.04-5 μM; 48 h) inhibits the activation of cytokine-induced active caspase-9 with an IC50 of 3.3 μM. Meanwhile, in rat insulin-secreting INS1E cells treated with pro-inflammatory cytokines and high glucose, this compound fully preserves cell viability, protects insulin secretion function, and reduces endoplasmic reticulum stress levels and the expression of pro-apoptotic proteins[1].
