Description

Dimethyl lithospermate is an antioxidant. Dimethyl lithospermate scavenges DPPH free radicals and inhibits free radical generation. Dimethyl lithospermate also protects hepatocytes from tert-butyl hydroperoxide (t-BHP)-induced oxidative damage. Dimethyl lithospermate can be used in oxidative damage-related research[1].

In Vitro

Dimethyl lithospermate (2-50 μM; 30 min) dose-dependently inhibits free radical production in AC2F hepatocytes[1].
Dimethyl lithospermate (2-50 μM; 1 h) dose-dependently protects AC2F hepatocytes against t-BHP-induced injury[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
