1. Metabolic Enzyme/Protease Neuronal Signaling Membrane Transporter/Ion Channel
  2. Liposome nAChR
  3. DSPE-PEG2000-RVG29

DSPE-PEG2000-RVG29 is a PEG conjugate composed of DSPE and rabies virus glycoprotein 29 (RVG29). RVG29 specifically binds to nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChR) at the blood-brain barrier (BBB), crosses the BBB, and mediates receptor-dependent transcytosis. DSPE-PEG2000-RVG29 can be used for brain-targeted drug delivery, surface modification of nanocarriers, as well as gene and nucleic acid delivery. DSPE-PEG2000-RVG29 is applicable to research related to hypoxic-ischemic brain injury, Parkinson's disease, and other conditions.

In Vitro

DSPE-PEG2000-RVG29-containing M-R@siC-NPs exhibit uniform size distribution, near-neutral surface charge, efficient siRNA loading, and long-term structural stability in biological media[1].
DSPE-PEG2000-RVG29-containing M-R@siC-NPs (20-120 μg/mL; 24 h) show low cytotoxicity in primary astrocytes at concentrations up to 80 μg/mL, with reduced viability at higher doses[1].
DSPE-PEG2000-RVG29-functionalized BAELPP (0.5 μg DNA equivalent per well; 24 h/48 h) achieves high transfection efficiency in SH-SY5Y human neuroblastoma cells with low cytotoxicity[2].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

In Vivo

M-R@siC-NPs (containing DSPE-PEG2000-RVG29) (80 μg/mL; intraperitoneal) effectively suppress hippocampal astrocyte activation, reduce neuroinflammation, and improve motor coordination and spatial memory in HIBD neonatal mice[1].
DSPE-PEG2000-RVG29 (10 mol%; retro-orbital injection) modification enhances brain targeting of lipopolyplexes, resulting in increased and localized transgene expression in the mouse striatum and substantia nigra[2].

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
