eIF4A3-IN-14 (Compound 51) (24 h-72 h) inhibits translation initiation of mRNAs with structured 5′-UTRs (e.g., c-myc) in MDA-MB-231 cells, with an EC50 of 40 nM in the c-myc-LUC assay, but does not inhibit mRNAs with simple 5′-UTRs (e.g., tubulin). It also inhibits the proliferation of MDA-MB-231 cells, with a corresponding EC50 of 50 nM[1].
