L-a-Phosphatidylserine sodium  (Synonyms: Soy PS sodium)

L-α-Phosphatidylserine sodium (Soy PS sodium) is a negatively charged phospholipid that acts as an allosteric activator to activate latent plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 (PAI-1). L-α-Phosphatidylserine does not directly alter the catalytic activity of t-PA, but regulates fibrinolytic activity solely by inducing conformational remodeling of PAI-1. L-α-Phosphatidylserine sodium is an antigen targeting phosphatidylserine (PS) and can induce the production of polyclonal antibodies. L-α-Phosphatidylserine is mainly used in studies related to immunology, fibrinolytic system and coagulation homeostasis^[1].

L-a-Phosphatidylserine sodium activates latent PAI-1 protein purified from the culture supernatant of human umbilical vein endothelial cells, increasing the potency of PAI-1 in inhibiting t-PA by approximately 50-fold^[1].
L-a-Phosphatidylserine sodium (> 0.05 mM) achieves saturated maximum activation of PAI-1, whereas sodium dodecyl sulfate requires a concentration exceeding 0.65 mM to reach an equivalent activation effect^[1].
