Description

FITC-inulin is a FITC (HY-66019)-labeled inulin (Ex/Em=488/525 nm). FITC-inulin serves as an accurate and stable marker for in vivo renal function assessment. FITC-inulin exhibits pH-dependent fluorescence[1].

In Vitro

The fluorescence intensity of FITC-inulin (0-0.8 mg/mL) correlates linearly with its concentration; its fluorescence intensity is pH-dependent, but this can be corrected using HEPES buffer[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

In Vivo

FITC-inulin (0.75 g/100 mL; i.v. infusion) serves as an accurate and stable marker for evaluating renal function in mice, and can reliably detect the physiological changes in renal function induced by Acetazolamide (HY-B0782)[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Animal Model: NIH-Swiss (male, 30-35 g)[1]
Dosage: 0.75 g/100 mL in isotonic saline (with albumin and glucose)
Administration: i.v. infusion; 0.25 µl·g body wt-1·min-1; during sample collection
Result: Showed high correlation with [125I]iothalamate for tubular fluid-to-plasma (TF/P) ratios.
Correlated highly with [125I]iothalamate for whole kidney glomerular filtration rate (GFR).
Exhibited late-proximal TF/P of 1.89, single-nephron GFR (SNGFR) of 9.64 nl/min, and fractional fluid reabsorption of 45.3% before acetazolamide treatment; these values decreased to 1.48, 6.65 nl/min, and 26.8% after acetazolamide treatment.
Maintained stable measurements of TF/P, fluid flow, and SNGFR for at least 2 weeks when stored in the dark at 4°C, with post-storage values nearly identical to initial measurements.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
