Description

Ganoderic acid S is a positional isomer of ganoderic acids, that can be isolated from the fermented mycelia of Ganoderma lucidum. Ganoderic acid S can induce apoptosis in HeLa cells through the mitochondria pathway[1].

In Vitro

Ganoderic acid S (0, 39.1, 97.7 μM; 12 h) causes cell cycle arrest in the S phase in HeLa cells[1].
Ganoderic acid S dose-dependently causes the collapse of mitochondrial membrane potential. Ganoderic acid S induces a substantial release of cytochrome c from the mitochondria into the cytosol in HeLa cells[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
