Hamiformamide is a nitric oxide production inhibitor with an IC50 of 49.1 μM, which is isolated from Hamigera avellanea IFM 52957. Hamiformamide inhibits nitric oxide production in macrophage-like cells. Hamiformamide modulates host immune signals.

Hamiformamide (5-100 μM; 2 h pre-incubation, 24 h incubation with LPS) potently inhibits LPS-induced nitric oxide production in RAW264 macrophage-like cells with an IC50 of 49.1 µM while maintaining high cell viability[1].
