Harzianic acid
Harzianic acid, a tetramic acid derivative, with activity of antimicrobial, antibiofilm formation and biofilm disaggregation. Harzianic acid interferes with biofilm formation by limiting bacterial iron availability. Harzianic acid is also a selective inhibitor of Acetohydroxyacid synthase (AHAS), the first enzyme in the branched-chain amino acid biosynthetic pathway. Harzianic acid can used for herbicide and fungicide.

Biological Activity
Acetohydroxyacid synthase (AHAS)[2]
Harzianic acid shows significant antimicrobial activity against MRSP and MSSP, with MIC values of 32 μg/mL and 16 μg/mL, respectively[1].
Harzianic acid (8-128 μg/mL) exhibits low cytotoxicity on HaCaT cells[1].
Harzianic acid inhibits fungal ThAHAS as a competitive inhibitor with a Ki of 6.65 μM[2].
Harzianic acid (0.1-100 μg/mL) inhibits pathogenic fungi growth[2].
