Carindacillin
Carindacillin (Indanyl carbenicillin; CP-15464-2 free base) is an orally active prodrug of Carbenicillin (HY-B0525). Carindacillin undergoes intestinal uptake via a proton gradient-driven carrier-mediated pathway and is rapidly hydrolyzed in vivo to release the bioactive Carbenicillin, which interferes with cell wall synthesis by inhibiting bacterial penicillin-binding proteins. Carindacillin can be used in research related to bacterial infections.

Biological Activity
Description
In Vitro
Carindacillin (CIPC) is actively transported into rat intestinal BBMV primarily via the monocarboxylic acid transport system, with a Km of 0.54 mM, a Ki of 0.59 mM, and an apparent uptake clearance of 499 × 10-3 µl/mg protein per s[1].
MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only. .
