Pyrethrolone
Pyrethrolone is a pyrethrolone-type component found in the flowers of Tanacetum cinerariifolium and constitutes a component of natural pyrethrins. Pyrethrolone is generated through the desaturation of jasmolone catalyzed by the cytochrome P450 enzyme TcPYS (CYP82Q3). Pyrethrolone is used in insecticide-related research.

Biological Activity
Description
In Vitro
Pyrethrolone is the active component of pyrethrin extracts, which exhibit strong contact toxicity against locusts and grasshoppers by interfering with voltage-gated sodium channels, causing rapid paralysis and death[1].
Pyrethrolone is produced from jasmone in N. benthamiana leaves co-expressing TcJMH and DN144246[2].
Pyrethrolone is produced by co-expression of TcJMH and TcPYS in transgenic Arabidopsis thaliana[2].
