Sulisobenzone disrupts energy metabolism, nucleotide synthesis, oxidative stress response, and endocrine function. Sulisobenzone thyroid hormone biosynthesis and induces oxidative stress.

Sulisobenzone (3.1-98.7 mg/L) downregulates thyroid hormone-regulated genes in rat pituitary cell lines[1].
Sulisobenzone (76 mg/L) induces oxidative damage and reduces viability in the microalga Chlamydomonas reinhardtii, increasing ROS levels by up to 1.5-fold and decreasing growth rate, membrane potentials, metabolic activity, and autofluorescence[1].

Increased L-arginine (97.1% change), phosphocreatine (31.9% change), and 2'-deoxyguanosine (50.0% change) in plasma.
Decreased L-phenylalanine (97.3% change), L-tyrosine (164.2% change), and guanosine (128.4% change), and increased 3,4-dihydroxyhydrocinnamic acid (63.7% change) and L-acetylcarnitine (68.5% change) in liver.
