Justalakonin
Justalakonin is an arylnaphthalene glycoside that is found in Justicia purpurea. Justalakonin exhibits no significant inhibitory effects on lipid peroxidation, COX‑1, or the proliferation of various tumor cells, but possesses COX-2 inhibitory activity.

In Vitro
Justalakonin undergoes acid hydrolysis to cleave the β‑D‑glucosyl bond, yielding aglycone 2a and glucose[1].
Justalakonin (compound 5) (25 μg/mL) exhibits no significant lipid peroxidation inhibitory activity in the SLPC LUV assay; it shows no significant COX-1 inhibitory activity; and it displays no significant antiproliferative activity against the AGS, HCT-116, MCF-7, NCI-H460, and SF-268 human cancer cell lines[2].
Justalakonin (25 μg/mL) exhibits moderate COX-2 inhibitory activity, with an inhibition rate of 45-60%[2].
MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Cell Line:Human gastric (AGS), colon (HCT-116), breast (MCF-7), lung (NCI-H460), and central nervous system (SF-268) cancer cell lines
-
Concentration:25 μg/mL
-
Incubation Time:48 h
-
Result:Did not reach the threshold for notable tumor cell proliferation inhibitory activity at 25 μg/mL across all tested cell lines.
