Flutolanil

Flutolanil is a succinate dehydrogenase complex inhibitor and fungicide. Flutolanil blocks electron transfer between the redox center of succinate dehydrogenase and coenzyme Q, inhibits mycelial oxygen consumption, and suppresses mycelial growth. Flutolanil induces acute and sublethal toxicity in zebrafish at different life stages. Flutolanil can be used in studies on plant disease control.

Biological Activity
Flutolanil (0.003-10 μM; 1 hour) potently inhibits mycelial oxygen consumption of Rhizoctonia solani. After 1 hour of incubation, the inhibition rate reaches 45% at 0.003 μM and 71% at 10 μM[2].
Flutolanil (10 μM) selectively inhibits the activities of complex II-related enzymes (succinate-cytochrome c reductase, succinate-Co Q reductase, succinate-DPIP reductase) in mitochondria of Rhizoctonia solani[2].
Flutolanil (0.1-10 μM) inhibits the activities of succinate-DPIP reductase and succinate-Co Q reductase in mitochondria of Rhizoctonia solani, with an IC50 of 0.5 μM for succinate-DPIP reductase[2].
Flutolanil (10 μM) completely inhibits mycelial growth of Rhizoctonia solani and Corticium rolfsii, but shows only extremely weak or even no inhibitory effect on the growth of Rhizopus chinensis, Rosellinia necatrix and Pyricularia oryzae[2].
