Merenskine
Merenskine is a chlorinated 1,2-unsaturated senecionine-type pyrrolizidine alkaloid and serves as a substrate for epoxidation reactions. Merenskine forms merepoxine N-oxide upon evaporation in ammoniated solvents, while it generates merepoxine under alkaline sample preparation conditions. Merenskine exhibits a pH-dependent transfer rate in black tea infusion, and the transfer rate decreases sharply under alkaline conditions.

Biological Activity
제품 설명
In Vitro
Merenskine (5-100 μg/mL) and its N-oxide are pyrrolizidine alkaloids not naturally present in Jacobaea species[1].
Merenskine undergoes significant degradation (up to 99% loss) when brewed in alkaline (pH 9) tea infusion conditions, alongside Jaconine and Merenskine N-oxide[2].
Merenskine (2.5 ng/mL; 5 min) exhibits pH-dependent transfer from fortified black tea to infusions, with transfer rates dropping to 2% at pH 9[3].
MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.
