Neburon
Neburon is a phenylurea herbicide whose main mechanism of action is to inhibit photosynthetic electron transport, thereby disrupting algal growth. Neburon activates the Ahr and Notch1 signaling pathways, and induces oxidative stress and apoptosis. Long-term exposure causes significant male reproductive toxicity and cardiotoxicity in zebrafish.

Biological Activity
Neburon (0.1-10 μg/L; waterborne exposure; solution refresh every other day; 150 days) induces dose-dependent structural and functional cardiac damage in adult male zebrafish, with even 0.1 μg/L causing ventricular enlargement, wall thickening, and fibrosis, and these effects involve activation of the Ahr and Notch1 signaling pathways[1].
Neburon (0.1-10 μg/L; waterborne; daily renewal (first month), every 2 days (remaining duration); 150 days) induces dose-dependent male reproductive toxicity in zebrafish, including impaired courtship behavior, reduced fecundity, disrupted spermatogenesis, hormonal imbalances, altered HPG axis gene expression, AhR pathway activation, oxidative stress, and increased testicular apoptosis, with the 10 μg/L dose producing the most severe effects[2].
MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.
