Proinsulin C-peptide (human)
Based on 1 publication(s) in Google Scholar
Proinsulin C-peptide (human) is a peptide consisting of 31 amino acids that links the A and B chains of proinsulin to ensure its correct folding. Proinsulin C-peptide (human) inhibits the high glucose-induced increase in PDGF-β receptor protein expression and the phosphorylation of p42/p44 MAP kinase. Proinsulin C-peptide (human) increases the deformability of erythrocytes derived from type 1 diabetes, inhibits insulin-induced neointimal thickening, and suppresses the proliferation of rat aortic smooth muscle cells cultured under high-glucose conditions.

Human proinsulin C-peptide (0.6-66.6 nmol/l; 4-8 h) restores the impaired erythrocyte deformability of Type I diabetic patient erythrocytes to healthy control levels, an effect dependent on Na+-K+-ATPase activity, but does not alter erythrocyte deformability in healthy control subjects[1].
Proinsulin C-peptide (human) (10 nmol/l; 14 days) fully abrogates insulin-induced neointimal thickening in organ-cultured human saphenous vein segments after 14 days of co-incubation[2].
Human proinsulin C-peptide (1-100 nmol/l; 3 weeks) dose-dependently suppresses high-glucose-induced hyperproliferation of rat aortic smooth muscle cells, A10 cells, with significant inhibitory effects at 10 nmol/l and 100 nmol/l after 3 weeks of treatment[3].
Human proinsulin C-peptide (10-100 nmol/l; 3 weeks) suppresses high-glucose-induced upregulation of PDGF-beta receptor protein expression in rat aortic smooth muscle cells, A10 cells, after 3 weeks of treatment[3].
MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.
